To tell ya'll the truth, I'd just gotten word on Gospel reggae. I'm late huh? Better late than never. Any way I'm proud to hear other genres of music that bigs up the The Word of God. Papa San, featured above, was a secular artist at one point but he turned his life to God and dancehall reggae expanded its horizons. Fantasia is doing the thang. She will play as herself in an upcoming made- for-t.v. film based from her book Life Is Not A Fairytale: The Fantasia Barrino Story. American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, Prophetess Juanita Bynum and Guitarist/Singer Jonathan Butler will take thier gospel origins to a different level. You may be wondering, "How?" Through classical music. They will perform thier hits to a 70 piece orchestra directed by well-noted conducter Henry Panion, III and a 300 member choir. Alabama's legislature voted on Tuesday to clear Rosa Parks, and many others, arrest records for disobeying the segregation-era laws from 50 years ago. Wow. But doesn't it make you wonder, why so long? I guess now is better than never...

For other tidbits, the wonderful Creflo Dollar was on TBN last night, and this morning. He just wanted listeners to know that we need to become pregnant with the knowledge of God's word in order to see his manifisations for our life unfold. Amen

For ya'll that don't know, her granddaughter Paris Bennett is one of the top six finalist on American Idol. Mary J. was doing her thang on Saturday Night Live. She introduced audiences to her rapping alter-ego "Brooke". I can't wait to see the video for this song. It's suppose to be a re-eactment of one of the most embarassing moments of Mary J's life. According to Starpulse News, Beyonce contacted Houston after reading allegations in the Enquirer of Houston's drug habit that was said to be spiraling out of control. Mary J. is also praying and standing by Houston as well. Let us all take a quick moment to pray for her. That she will allow God to let her light shine again and that her career will bigger and badder than ever before. I love you Whitney!

MANDISA ACUSSED OF BEING ANTI-GAY?

I caught a brief story on Inside Edition today stating that Mandisa's bold praise to God may have been the cause of her elimination from American Idol. Before singing Mary Mary's song "Shackles (Praise You) the Tennesse native shared with audiences that God can bring you out of your addictions which rubbed America the wrong way leading to accusations of her being anti-gay. Mandisa told Inside Edition that she was hurt when she heard the allegations and that was not her intentions. In fact she says she don't hate anyone. Mandisa felt obligated to stand by what she shared being that she struggled with her own addictions with food. Now she is overcoming that obstacle by eating healthier and excercising. It's going to be alright girl. Don't worry about the elimination. God has another plan for you...

I checked out the 20th annual Soul Train Awards tonight and it was pretty good. Highlights of the show would have to be the special honorees for Destiny's Child, Jamie Foxx, R.Kelly, and John Legend. Donnie McClurkin won for best Gospel album for Psalms, Hymns & Spiritual Songs. The other nominess for best gospel album were: One Church, Kurt Carr Project; Hero, Kirk Franklin and Purified, CeCe Winans. Congrats!

I read on Mary J's site that she was performing on Regis and Kelly. I just had to check it out, Thank God I have a T.V. in the office. Mary looked lovely as usual and her signature vocals was strong and raw. When Kelly asked Mary J. what does she do to hit those notes, Mary says, "I warm-up. I do my homework." They also discussed her duet performance with Bono from U2 at the Grammy's and of course her #1 hit Be Without You. Mary Graciously thanked her fans and everyone that took part in her album Breakthrough. No thank you Mary. Keep up the good work and thanks for being an inspiration to not continue to be a victim of your past.

I'm pretty sure Ann Nesby, a former member of the grammy award winnning gospel choir Sounds of Blackness, will feel like a proud grandma as she watch her grandaughter Paris Bennett compete as one of the 12 contestants on American Idol. I saw Bennett during one of American Idol's audition episodes and this girl can sang. She is only 17 but her voice is so rich and beautiful. I guess she learned from the best.
